Mrs. Melissa Lawver, MA, LPC-S

Melissa is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Texas and has been seeing clients since 2008 and training and leading other counselors since 2011. Her approach is both compassionate and direct, walking alongside you with empathy while also gently challenging the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

Her specialities include working with clients recovering from trauma, dysfunctional family and faith dynamics, anxiety, and people pleasing. Melissa is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, and she weaves these evidence-based approaches with mindfulness and integrative practices to support body, mind, and spirit.

As a Christ follower, She values the role faith can play in healing, but respects and welcome clients from all backgrounds. If your faith has been a source of pain, confusion, or shame, she holds space for that too.

Her greatest passion is creating safe space for clients and communities to heal from trauma and unhelpful emotional patterns. It’s a sacred privilege to walk alongside clients as they heal, set healthier boundaries, reclaim their voice, and create their own watershed moments of transformation.

Outside of the therapy room, Melissa is a wife, a mom, and the author of Healed & Healing: Embracing Sorrow & Joy. She leads workshops and trainings on trauma, boundaries, emotional wellness, and the intersection of faith and mental health.
